There's no limit to the number of modules that can be added, allowing the game to be played both standalone and in combination with additional modules, resulting in over twenty different ecosystems.

The goal of Nature is to help your species survive and adapt to an ever-changing ecosystem, where food is scarce and predators lurk. You score points by maintaining your species' population despite the threat of starvation and predation. By equipping your species with traits like Speed to evade predators, Nesting to increase your population, or Climbing to reach fruit high in trees, you increase their chances of survival.

A Nature game consists of four rounds, or five if you're playing with modules. Each round, players receive a new species and draw cards, creating new life forms and possibilities within the ecosystem. Each round consists of two phases: adaptation and feeding. At the end of a round, players receive points for each surviving population of their species. The player who keeps the largest population alive throughout the game wins.
