Über Bio-Baumwolle:

Die verwendete Baumwolle stammt aus kontrolliert biologischem Anbau (kbA). Sie wird in Mischkulturen und Fruchtfolge angepflanzt, um nährstoffreiche Böden zu fördern. Bei der Anzucht von Bio-Baumwolle kommen ausschließlich natürliche Schädlingsbekämpfungsmittel zum Einsatz, wodurch schädliche Pestizide und Herbizide vollständig vermieden werden. Bio-Baumwolle benötigt erheblich weniger Wasser als konventionell angebaute Baumwolle.
Dies ist auf den natürlichen Dünger zurückzuführen, der langfristig den Humusanteil im Boden und damit die Speicherkapazität von Wasser erhöht. Zudem wird sie in Mischkultur und Fruchtfolge angebaut und fördert damit beständig nährstoffreiche Böden.
