Camponotus maculatus est une fourmi aux caractéristiques très particulières en raison de sa magnifique couleur jaune/orange et de ses taches noires sur l'abdomen. On la retrouve en Afrique de l'Est.

Les Camponotus maculatus ont un comportement agressif lorsqu'on les dérange, elles attaquent avec leurs mandibules !

Vous reconnaîtrez facilement les majors à leur taille et à leur tête toute noire.

Observez les évoluer dans votre aire de chasse. Leur comportement est fascinant. 
C'est une fourmi spectaculaire et très protectrice.

La reine mesure environ 17 mm et les ouvrières entre 6 et 10 mm, les majors quant à elles font entre 13 et 15 mm.

Une colonie est composée d’une reine ainsi que de 1 à 5 ouvrières selon les saisons. 

La vente de nos colonies de fourmis se fait via des tubes à essai, où elles peuvent rester environ 1 à 2 mois, avant que la réserve d'eau s'épuise.
