Die Fronteingangshöhlen dienen als Schutz- und Rückzugsmöglichkeit für Welse & Panzerwelse. 
 Die hinten geschlossene Tonhöhle ist ca. 14,5 cm lang und hat eine Eingangsöffnung von 
ca. 6 x 4 cm. Die Höhlen sind auch ideal für Bepflanzungen von Moos.
 Da die Oberfläche recht porös ist, wächst das Moos sehr schnell und leicht an.
